Yes, I'm still quite alive, thank you for asking. And yes, the mun has been neglecting me dreadfully, but I won't hold it against her . . . too much, I suppose. After all, I do keep busy. Why, just the other day, I went out to browse at Mathoms of Yesteryear, a very charming antique shop in Frogmorton, and I had a little mishap. Wouldn't you know it, but I tripped over one of their crossbows, yet again. I do that every time I go in there, I'm afraid. Poor luck, I guess. Or product placement with the intent of reducing the number of return customers, perhaps.

And yes, there was indeed a "thwup! gnannnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggg!" as I righted myself and stopped my fall, and realized how attentive to detail, but not loss of life, the shopkeepers were. I was reassured that, in turn, I heard no, "crash! tinkle! tinkle!" and most relieved there was no "thwip! ARGH!!! My EYYYE!" or "thump! AAAHHHH! You killed my auntie!"

I did then hear, "Oh, watch yourself, Mr. Bolger-Baggins. Crossbow wounds can be nasty. Hehehe," from a belatedly attentive, and, most likely, bored and hopeful clerk.

So consequently, I went searching in the direction in which I thought the bolt alighted. After a little looking about, I finally found it, stuck in the corner of this very old and rather compelling portrait. Naturally, I felt duty-bound to purchase the portrait, having damaged it. But I took it to a frame shop afterwards, and the damage in the corner was easily mended. It reminds me quite a bit of Smeagol, don't you think? Maybe it's the lace. I imagine this may have been one of his foremothers or forefathers having a night on the town.

Anyway, Great Gramma Addy has a collection of old portraits at Great Smials, so I'm giving it to her in hopes she will enjoy it. I think she will.
