To Celebrate a Life

We have just returned from the sea to bid our much missed Eomer safe passage.

And looking at Eomer's journal, I am struck by what a perfect last line heshe left us with, a perfect last line of a perfect parting entry.

Accomplished, heshe noted. A brief entry, and yet so accomplished indeed.

What one most needs to know about himher and where to find good dwarven contractors is right there, isn't it? He she rebuilt a city. Now shouldn't we break out that keg and celebrate a life?

*watches Folco set up the kegs he had brewed* Eomer would want us to. *sets out mugs* Who** will join me for some ale, and to tell of link to favourite memories of this warrior of Rohan and hisher mun-mates?

**muns and readers are welcome to join the pups

*though unfamiliar with herhim, raises a glass and drinks to the woman who so impressed his nephew*

I'm sorry that you never had the chance to know him, Isengar. *struggles to try and find the words that could possibly encapsualte the spirit of the gregarious horselord* He was the sort of person who could be almost larger-than-life yet very down to earth at the same time. Honorable, fiercely loyal and protective of those he loved, but almost boyishly mischievous, a real prankster with a wonderful sense of humor. He also had a great appreciation for the...finer things in life. In other words, the man loved to party. It is little wonder that he made friends everywhere he went, and inspired such great love in so many people.

As for his mun-mates, I could tell you about the time I supposedly tried to eat a silmaril, but that will require a bit more ale, I think.

[identity profile] bbolger-baggins.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
He was impressive, Uncle Sennie . . . and she was impressive, though I only interacted with Eomer when he was a he. He'd switch iconsbodies, you know, between a female and male one, when you just added water. Quite a talent, that.

I am sorry I didn't get to spend much time with himher. *turns to Elly* Froie could be such a dear, couldn't he? Quite some spirited little lads those abortions were. *smiles remembering of them*

[identity profile] elanorgamgee.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
*nods, listening* I never spoke with Eomer in her female form, either. I suppose that is why I continue to think of him solely as 'he'.

*lights up at the mention of the twins; proceeds to fill Isengar in on the identity of said lads* Froie and Sammy were...are... *slight frown* were my younger non-canonical brothers. Their origin (http://www.livejournal.com/users/numberoneenemy/27455.html) is a bit complicated (http://www.livejournal.com/users/frodo_junior/272.html) and their arrival (http://www.livejournal.com/users/samwise_jr/259.html) rather unexpected. Froie was an absolute love, and Sammy... *laughs* well, Sammy could be a bit trying sometimes. But he was a good kid.

...

*bites lip and glances away, distracted*

[identity profile] isengar-took.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
*listens, smiles when she lights up*

*rest hand on her hand*

[identity profile] elanorgamgee.livejournal.com 2005-09-27 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
*glances up and smiles, determined to not let herself be overcome by sorrow over the fact that her brothers also shared mun-space with Eomer* Pizza. *smiles wistfully, remembering how much Sammy and Froie enjoyed that particular treat* We need pizza to go with the ale. Does anyone know if the Mordor Pizza Express still delivers? *without really waiting for a reply, picks up the phone and begins to dial the numbers from memory* What would everybody like?

[identity profile] elanorgamgee.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs* Well that goes without saying, of course.

*as the other end of the phone line picks up* Hi! I'd like to order a pizza. *brief pause* Yes, I'll hold. *strains of "Sympathy for the Dark Lord" come through the phone*

So we'll get one--or should we make that three?--Tookish Delights. What else?

[identity profile] bbolger-baggins.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Well, we have to get a Helm's Deep Dish in honour of Eomer.

Oh, and Melbie loves the White City--that's the one with cheese and garlic and a white sauce instead of tomato.

[identity profile] elanorgamgee.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
*nods* Absolutely.

*perks up* Ooh, that sounds really good! *half-listening to the recording listing off the featured items of the day* Anyone particularly fond of anchovies? The Smeagol Special is discounted today.

((Ahahah thank you. When I start making bad puns its usually a cry for help. What help exactly, though, I'm not entirely sure ;D))

[identity profile] bbolger-baggins.livejournal.com 2005-09-30 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
*shakes his head* Not me partiuclarly. How about a Greeenwood the Great? That one has broccoli, spinach, and green peppers.

[identity profile] elanorgamgee.livejournal.com 2005-10-01 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs* I don't think I've ever met anyone who is. And that sounds perfect. *orders at least two of everything suggested plus a couple Everything but the One Remotes, sans olives and anchovies*

[identity profile] bbolger-baggins.livejournal.com 2005-10-03 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think I have either.

[identity profile] elanorgamgee.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
*giggles* Maybe pizza with anchovies is just an urban legend. Like that guy who ate too many mushrooms and then thought he was a glass of orange juice.

[identity profile] bbolger-baggins.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs, then looks puzzled a moment* I hadn't heard that one. Sounds like pulp fiction to me. *coughs*

[identity profile] elanorgamgee.livejournal.com 2005-10-04 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
*nearly chokes on her ale, recovers, then dissolves into peals of laughter*

((Ahahahahahahah!!))

[identity profile] bbolger-baggins.livejournal.com 2005-10-05 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
*is about to pat her back when she recovers* My attempted hobbicide failed again, I see. *laughs orange peels of laughter whatcha meant?*

((Ehehe! *runs*))

That's quite a party trick.

I'm glad you had a chance to know him.

[identity profile] lothiriel.livejournal.com 2005-09-25 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
He was a good husband, in his own way.

And a wonderful friend by anyone's standards.

[identity profile] elanorgamgee.livejournal.com 2005-09-25 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
*smiles* That's the first thing that always comes to mind when I hear his name. He had such a wonderfully big heart, and touched so many lives wherever he went.

[identity profile] lothiriel.livejournal.com 2005-09-25 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
He gave the mun her first-ever livejournal code, and while I think Kielle may not have regretted it that often, Eomer *certainly* regretted letting Shadowfax onto MESPT...

[identity profile] elanorgamgee.livejournal.com 2005-09-25 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
*laughs brightly* I can't imagine him regretting it too much, as this world would have been far less...memorable without the influence of Shadowfax. *winks at him before returning her attention to Lothiriel* As it would have been without you or Eorl.

Kielle once did my mun a huge kindness when my mun was puppetsitting and found herself inadvertently drawn into a serious plot that she felt completely out of her league in. That gesture has not been forgotten.

[identity profile] bbolger-baggins.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
He greeted my mun and me before I ever ventured outside of my Pantry Smial and let a soul know I was here--it was scary amazing lovely and made us feel so welcome. I didn't get to spend much time with Eomer, but I know how fiercely loving he was to his friends.

*hands Lothy a mug of ale* So please tell us stories or link--favourite memories of him. Would you, Lady Lothiriel?

[identity profile] horseofrohan.livejournal.com 2005-09-25 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Rohan will never be the same again.

[identity profile] bbolger-baggins.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
*solemnly* No, it won't be, Great One of the Mearas. There is no laughter in the Hall of the Kings of Meduseld now.

*switches into hostly mode* Would you like an apple or a feedbag?

[identity profile] arodofrohan.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Truer words were never uttered. I'll miss his braids manly plaits.

Me again

[identity profile] f-baggins.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I never had the pleasure to meet her him, but she he was noble and a true warrior. I will gladly join, get some ale and listen your stories!

[identity profile] elanorgamgee.livejournal.com 2005-09-30 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
*is unsure as to the timeline in this Frodo's world, so she decides to keep her introduction simple*

*smiles warmly* Hi Frodo, I'm Elanor, a good friend of Bingo's. We're ordering pizza--what do you like on it?

[identity profile] f-baggins.livejournal.com 2005-10-01 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
I came from[livejournal.com profile] insane_lotr_rpg *bows* A pleasure to meet you Elanor. Pizza? All the topics will be fine as long it doesn't have anchovies or olives.. Thank you!

[identity profile] elanorgamgee.livejournal.com 2005-10-01 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
*smiles* The pleasure is mine, Frodo, and welcome to [livejournal.com profile] shire_mespt. I have heard a little bit about your Arda. My understanding is that it's not so very different from this one, that like us you are not strictly bound to the laws of canon?

*makes a mental note* Everything but olives and anchovies, got it. And you're very welcome.

[identity profile] f-baggins.livejournal.com 2005-10-02 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
My Arda is more a cocktail of the book the movie and the acidic sense of humor of our muns.. *winks*
Thanks for the warm welcome.
